Day 1-2

30/3/12 - Its the eve to the grand adventure and we are already off to a great start.  Just finished preparing the rig and noted a small drop of water from the trailer.  After a fair bit of investigation water had leaked from the internal tap and a few unimportant things got wet (beds - Tim & Jay’s clothes etc.)  So we had to strip the whole trailer and start again at 8 o’clock at night.

Oh well, things will dry out.  All ready to go with the nose at the end of the drive way ready to set off.

31/3/12 Finally managed to set off and endured a 13 hour drive from Sydney to Broken Hill departing at 410am.  Good easy drive with no problems.  Broken Hill was 36 degrees when we arrive at 530pm and only 18 degrees when left at 8am the next morning.  All were in bed sound asleep by 8pm.  Road into Broken Hill almost dead straight after we left Cobar.

1/4/2012 Broken Hill to Port Augusta—much more relaxed trip today.  Coming into Port Augusta the endless flat plains (some with emus) returned to undulating pastoral land once again.  Passed through Peterborough which is a pretty small town on the way with a train museum.
